Legislative Influence

• The ASCLS Legislative Symposium, held annually in Washington, D.C., provides opportunities to learn about current issues, acquire lobbying skills, and meet with members of Congress.
• ASCLS's dedicated government affairs team, coupled with extensive grass roots involvement and state leadership teams assure the concerns of the profession are heard in Congress and in state legislatures.
• ASCLS-MS has led past efforts to license clinical laboratory practitioners in Mississippi and continues to monitor licensure efforts in other states that could assist Mississippi in protecting consumers from the performance of laboratory tests by unqualified personnel.
